Children & Family Profile Notice

Parent-managed profiles, not child accounts

In Legacy Pulse, a household is managed by one adult administrator. That administrator can create profiles for the people in the household — including children — and file records under them. Children do not get logins: children under 13 cannot create or sign in to accounts, and a child profile has no credentials, no inbox, and no way for the child to be contacted through Legacy Pulse.

This means Legacy Pulse never collects information directly from a child. Everything in a child's profile was put there by the managing parent or guardian.

Guardian authority

When you create a child profile, you confirm that you are the child's parent or legal guardian, or otherwise have the legal authority to manage the child's health information. Legacy Pulse records who created the profile, the basis of authority you confirmed, the child's date of birth, the household role, and the timestamp and notice version of each consent you grant — so there is always an auditable answer to "who authorized this, and when."

If your authority over a child's information changes — for example, through a custody change — contact us and we will work through it with you. Contested family situations are handled carefully and, where needed, with legal guidance.

What we collect about children, and why

A child profile contains what you put in it: the child's name, age and date of birth, relationship to the household, and the health records you upload for them — the same categories as any other family member (labs, immunizations, visit notes, measurements, and similar).

It is used the same narrow way as everyone else's data: processed only to deliver your vault, search, and summaries. For children, immunization histories and growth records are often exactly the documents families most need to find quickly — that is the purpose this profile serves.

Hard limits on child data

Child data in Legacy Pulse is subject to strict limits: it is not used for advertising of any kind; it is never used to train AI models; and it is not used to build profiles of the child for any purpose beyond displaying the records you stored. These limits are commitments of the service, not settings that can be toggled.

Deleting a child's profile

The managing administrator can delete a child's profile at any time from Settings. Deletion follows the full lineage cascade: all of the child's original files are removed, every entry extracted from them is removed, their search index and embedding entries are removed, summaries about them are updated or removed, our service providers are instructed to delete the corresponding data, and backup copies are cleared within 90 days.

When a child comes of age

A child's health history is ultimately theirs. Legacy Pulse's data model already tracks each profile's date of birth, the authority under which it is managed, consent timestamps, and a transfer state — the groundwork for handing a profile to the person it belongs to.

The transfer workflow itself — letting a young adult claim their profile, review what it contains, and take control of it (or ask for it to be deleted) — is planned for a later release. Until it ships, a person who has reached the age of majority in their state can contact us to request deletion of their profile, and we will honor it.
