Legacy Pulse does not analyze genetic information

Genetic data is different in kind from other health records: it is immutable, it implicates blood relatives who never agreed to anything, and it is regulated under its own set of laws. Legacy Pulse's current version does not analyze, interpret, parse, or draw inferences from genetic information — full stop.

Genomic uploads are not currently enabled

You cannot currently upload genomic files (such as raw data exports from consumer DNA services, VCF files, or sequencing results) to Legacy Pulse. The consent framework for genomic storage exists in the product, but the upload path is switched off until storage ships and this notice takes effect.

If a genomic file arrives inside another document — for example, a clinic letter that quotes a genetic test result — it is treated as an ordinary document you uploaded; Legacy Pulse does not single it out for genetic interpretation.

How genomic storage will work when it ships

A future release will let you store genomic files in the vault, as raw files only. When that ships, genomic storage will sit behind its own separate consent gate — distinct from the consents that cover the rest of your health data — and the files will be technically isolated: stored separately, excluded from AI processing, excluded from parsing and extraction, excluded from search indexes and embeddings, excluded from summaries, and excluded from any inference about family members.

In other words: a stored genomic file will be a sealed envelope. Legacy Pulse will keep it safe and give it back to you; it will not open it.

Access to stored genomic files inside our systems will be restricted and logged, in line with the access controls described in the General Privacy Policy.

Separate deletion and export

When genomic storage ships, genomic files will have their own deletion and export controls, independent of the rest of the vault. You will be able to export a genomic file exactly as you uploaded it, or delete it — with the same 90-day backup purge window that applies to all deletions — without touching anything else in your account. Withdrawing genomic-storage consent will stop any new genomic uploads.
